Terms & refunds

Playing, online accounts, Coins and your refund rights.

Braincell Breakdown · Last updated 2026-10-11

Braincell Breakdown is provided by Jonathan Borthwick, trading as Spinning Monkey Studios, in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. For help, refund requests or questions about these terms, email support@spinningmonkeystudios.com.

Optional web Coin packs are available to signed-in accounts. You can also earn Coins by playing. Native app purchases remain unavailable.

Playing and online accounts

You can play without an online account. Online accounts require Google sign-in and an age confirmation that you are 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, ask your parent or guardian to review these terms with you and approve any purchase.

Keep your sign-in secure and use your own account. We use a made-up player name. Do not share private room codes with strangers. How we handle information is explained in our privacy policy.

Fair play

Do not cheat, tamper with account or payment records, attack the service, impersonate another player, or use the game to break the law. We may restrict an account to address fraud, security risks or misuse. Contact support if you believe a restriction is a mistake.

Private online games use room codes and a direct connection between players. Only share codes with people you know. There is no public matchmaking or free-text chat.

Coins and game content

Coins are used only inside Braincell Breakdown. They are not money, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be traded or transferred between players. A refund of a qualifying purchase is separate from exchanging Coins for money.

Device-only demo progress is separate from purchased account Coins. Online purchases belong to the account signed in at checkout. Save-only-on-device progress can be lost if you clear browser data or uninstall the app.

We may update game content and balance as the game develops. If a change or service closure affects a paid purchase, contact us; these terms do not remove remedies required by law.

Purchases

The offer and checkout will show the Coin pack, price, currency, applicable tax or additional charges, and final total before you agree to pay. Prices are in Canadian dollars unless clearly stated otherwise. Purchases are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. The displayed CAD total is the amount charged; no additional tax or delivery charge is collected under our current small-seller setup. Stripe collects your billing details and email for payment and receipts. Keep the receipt emailed after payment; it includes the purchase details and refund policy. Contact support if it is missing.

Web payments are handled by Stripe. We do not receive your full card details. Coins are delivered to the signed-in account after payment is confirmed. If payment is pending, Coins may not be available immediately. If the pack does not arrive, contact support with your receipt instead of buying it again.

You must be authorised to use the payment method. If you are a minor, your parent or guardian must approve the purchase. A separately released mobile app may use its platform’s payment and refund process; its checkout will say so.

Refunds

  • Unused Coin packs: contact us within 14 days of purchase to request a refund of a pack whose purchased Coins have not been spent. Include your player name and receipt reference. We will verify the purchase and remove its Coins when refunding it.
  • Spent packs: we review requests case by case. Explain the problem; using Coins does not remove any rights you have under law.
  • Duplicate charges or failed delivery: contact us so we can investigate and arrange the appropriate correction, delivery or refund.
  • Legal rights: this voluntary 14-day policy does not limit cancellation, refund or other rights that apply by law, including rights for missing required disclosures, missing contract copies or non-delivery.

Approved refunds are made to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider controls how long it takes to appear. Reversing a purchase removes the corresponding purchased Coins. If those Coins have already been spent, an account may show a Coin shortfall or purchase restriction while the issue is resolved.

Deleting an account

Deleting an account removes its game progress and cannot be undone. Contact support about a purchase or refund before deleting your account, where possible. Deleting an account does not by itself request a refund or cancel rights you have under law.

Your rights and changes to these terms

Nothing here excludes consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded. You may contact the relevant consumer protection authority and use the courts available to you. These terms do not require private arbitration, prohibit reviews or prevent class actions.

We will update the date when these terms change and explain material changes in the game before they apply. A later change will not remove refund rights attached to an earlier purchase.
